The US state of Georgia has decided to sell the small town of Toomsboro in order to preserve it. In order to develop small towns and cities, municipalities should look for local investors, including big business, which will take the territory under their guardianship.
The American township is being sold for $1.7 million, the price of an apartment in New York City, NBC New York reported. The sale is advertised on Craigslist.
The town has 700 residents. There is a restaurant, hotel, bank, school, railroad depot and a couple of other facilities. All of these farms originated in the second half of the century before last. Now city officials “hope to see the Tumsboro property in the right hands” so that an investor can preserve it and use it for music festivals, film productions, and holiday events.
