Ewing Street

Ewing Street (between Valley Road and Franklin Avenue)
Ewing Street is a local road paralleling Harrison Street, connecting Route 206 and Franklin Avenue. This project focuses on the section of Ewing Street between Valley Road and Franklin Avenue.
Approximately 0.40 miles of roadway will be improved through the proposed project. In addition to repaving, Belgian block curbing will be installed along both sides of the roadway. Sidewalk will also be added along the length of the roadway. A new storm drainage system will replace the existing sub-standard drainage system. The sanitary sewer system will be repaired; the sewer main will be lined and undergo spot repairs as necessary. Sewer lateral repair and replacement will occur from the main to the right-of-way, and any necessary work on private property will be completed as part of the project.
The Ewing Street project will increase safety for the community with a smooth surface for cyclists and vehicles to use. Roadway maintenance and drainage concerns will decrease due to the new pavement and improved drainage system. Ponding and icy conditions will be reduced as well. Sidewalk along this section of road will connect other existing walkways to provide a safe passage for pedestrians and children traveling to and from John Witherspoon Middle School and Princeton High School or other locations within the community. In addition, the sanitary sewer system will be repaired as necessary.
